I had an email from the National Lottery, with great joy they have informed me that tonight, Tuesday 29th of July is a super roll over of 29Million Euros, which at todays exchange rate is £22.9 Million!!

So i decided to log into my National Lottery account, due to the shop being a little far away for a quick dash! 

Logged in, no problems did one Lucky Dip line and one PYO line. 

Now, the 2 lines total a cost of £4, great! ill add the minimum amount of £5 and im done...... BUT NO.....the Minimum now is £10 so thats leaves me with £6 in the account, oh why not try a quick win game.....a simple dice game or spin the wheel

Bang one game down, £2 down and nothing to show for it......

Oh whats one more game.......Won £5 on that one.....and hope simple it is to click "Play Again" its crazy! 

I have left the money in the account and logged off..... How quick "Gamblor" can just take you under his wings!

Well last night decided to go for the pre order purchase of Warlords of Draenor! Used my free character boost to 90 as well. Used the boost on my level 49 Horde Paladin, so finally got the achievement for max level on each side!

Friday 25th July - Hawaiian Fishery

Happy Friday!
That great time of the week again, its Friday!

Was out last night with Spoon at the park with a football, there is a gate at the back of the which we have never been through, so last night we decided to check it out.......We walked past a couple of tree into this very secluded lake? pond? fishery, surrounded by fishers, all instantly turned to look at us, with a stare of "You do not belong here, the sacred fish gods don't like you"
So before i could even stop walk to look around more, quick spin heel action and walked straight back out again, was very surreal!

At work today no meetings booked in, which is always nice and sit down and get on with some tasks ive got outstanding with some Building Control code and also finish of the time-sheet database and export.

This weekend, Saturday day time heading to Ben's for another EPIC installment of DnD! looking forward to that!

Saturday night, off to a Hawaiian party, got my "loud" shirt ready so hopefully the weather holds out so everyone can be outside!

Monday New Fad Madness!

Well its that time again, after a chat with a work pal about mobile apps i have decided to try and make one! 

Currently downloading Eclipse to make the app with. 

Now this will be the first app i would of ever made so lets see how it goes but the code looks tricky but not impossible! 

Now ill build a test app / a funny app and some kinda of call shop app!

Nice day at work so far! working on this timesheet application and database, have finally sorted out the SQL code to pick out the rolling 12 month data!

didnt have the hashtags in my starting code but due to being an access database need to use # and not ' for a date range, who knew! 

But now the data is coming across based on 2 cell values

Start date for the rolling 12 months

End date for the rolling 12 months 

=TEXT(EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1),"dd-mmm-yy")

This is now working like a charm for the automation! 

When the button clicked to refresh the data, the code heads to the DB finds all rows between the two dates, finds the correct user and department for the correct graph then update all pivot tables and charts in the workbook

Now to head out for lunch and come back tidy up all the graphs and data structure within the excel sheets, sort the permissions out for each user and this should be ready for some testing!

The 100 - New TV Show - What we think.....

The 100 TV Show…What a let down

Spoilers included……..

Well after seeing a couple of gripping adverts on TV for this new show “The 100”, then a couple of good reports from some work friends, we decided to give the show a go!

As you would expect we started with episode 1 – the Pilot then quickly followed by episode 2.

Now the concept of this show is great, love the idea of it and the background story to why they are in space and why they have sent these 100 criminals (under 18) to earth.

So the first episode is a bit of plot building, background is that 97 years ago there was a nuclear war that destroyed pretty much the entire planet, the last remaining survivors are all on a space station called “The Arc”. They find out that The Arc needs 6 months of oxygen to fix the outside air pumps, but they only have 4 months of oxygen left, so to give them more time they send these 100 under 18 criminals down to earth for them to check if the planet can be lived on once more. Each of the 100 have a wristband on which tells the arc the vitals of each of them, so if they remove the wristband, they are seen as “Dead” due to no signal or pulse can be detected.

So this first half of the episode I can handle, very well done and makes complete sense…..now soon as they reach the planet, I start to get annoyed with these “Youths”, they are down there for a mission and to help save the entire human race, but no, they rebel within seconds of landing remove the wristbands, this is where it becomes very teen/pop/Small Ville/90210 style TV show and it loses its appeal for me.

They all start beating each other up, picking on the weak of the group and not actually doing much to survive, no real shelter, water supplies or food supply or ideas. It’s also like the kids of peter pan, but at least in peter pan they had a rough idea of what was going on, these guys are just douche-bags.

We then watched the 2^nd episode, I’d say around 50% of this one was actually good and the other 50% of the time it was more annoying or stupid. I’m sure if I was 18 and in that situation, things would have been very different! They soon find out they are not alone in this area of the planet and find some weird shaped skulls of what they expect to be a “mutated” human skull.

We will give episode 3 and possibly 4 a watch and see how it goes, but as it stands we won’t be “committed watchers” or even “if it’s on watchers”.

World Cup Sunday

Morning!
Well its World Cup Sunday! Tonight will be watching Germany Vs Argentina, World Cup Final!

Last night was the first time ive ever played a game of Dungeon and Dragons, it was very enjoyable and would definitely play again, we managed to escape a boat during a storm, kill an old "Fire Bird" grab some loot and head to the first town. We had a touch screen monitor on the table for maps and landscape, using it to move our characters around the island. Very nice extra to the game!

Elisa has gone to bed now, up for breakfast now back in bed to catch up on some sleep. 

This leaves me with some Assassins Creed Black Flag time!

The Early Friday

Just due to being owed an hour and 30mins from work, today i left about 50mins early! didnt want to take the whole time as felt it was too early to leave so carried on! Working on a timesheeting? Timesheet excel application, writes into a little DB. Couple of lines of VB for upload and checking the database and jobs done!

Clash Of Clans

I've been playing a fair amount of Clash of Clans lately finally at a descent level to get some good attacks going! Ill be join Pat's clan soon, got high enough to join so will message him soon! Sadly it is a time based app but i guess that's how it keeps you playing.
