Well so far as of now ive been streaming Warlords of Draenor for 15hrs and 13mins.

Last night on release there was some world server crashes caught one of them on video for you guys! 

I have completed some of the Level 2 garrison stuff with my mage and started level 1 with my paladin, the server is getting full so the lag spikes are increasing! 

So far an excellent expansion with the quests, characters and garrisons.

Due to tonight being the realease of the new world of warcraft game - Warlords of Daenor, i have decded to setup a live stream and will carry on streaming until i fall asleep, so not sure when that will be yet!

Halloween Maze and 20 Wins!

Hello! 

Well its been a busy couple of days with Halloween, recovering from Halloween and added a 20 wins video to the Hearthstone Collection. 

So here is the first highlight from the weekend. 

We went to a party in High Wycombe, invite from Elisa's work friend. This was a fancy dress Halloween party with homemade Maze! 

Couple of drinks, some maze action some great people for a great charity.

Now for the gaming side of this, here is a new Hearthstone video, its the next step in the Hearthstone wins collection. I will carry on with this video and see how far i can get! Here hoping 100+ eh! 

So its recorded in 1.5x speed as the last one! 

The deal i made with myself is to try and play Hearthstone each night until i get defeated. So last night jumped on to play got into the first game and lost it, so that was it done for the night. This evening jumped on won 3 then lost so up to 23 wins will do another video at 30, then 40 and so on......

Heroes of the Storm Part 2

Well I have been on the Alpha now for a couple of games now and can say that I'm enjoying it. I know some will say its exactly like League of Legends and the Dota's but as a blizzard fan i can just relate to these characters, that for me is nice reason to keep playing this game. 

Now ive playied some solo battles and a couple of online Vs games, its love it or awful situation. You can get a team who all work together and get the goals done.....or......you have that other type of team that just couldnt hold a kite down. 

I will carry on with the Alpha and report back at later dates but until then here is the 

2nd video in the HoTs Series.

A Blizzard Surprise

Well after a day at work, got home to find an email from my favorite game company - Blizzard. The email subject being "ModifiedMatty Welcome to the Heroes Of The Storm Technical Alpha" 

Now this could be ranked in the top 10 types of email subjects being "Invite to Alpha/Beta stage of a new game"

So here it is!

Soapbox Building / Kite Flying / Hercules Drinking Game / Warcraft Questing and a Roast Dinner to finish it all off!

Well the week that has just past was full of interesting things but i will be high lighting the couple of things that have stood out! 

Firstly for a work 2 day team building and conference, we headed up to Daventry (about an hour and 15 from home) the first half of the first day was very informative, the second part of the first day was an activity session, which involved building a Soapbox racer. 

We got given a shell and 4 wheels and told to build the rest, couple of mandatory items like side skirts, rear spoiler and front nose cone. Once built each team raced, to try and win a place in the final. 

For a team building activity this was a very good one! 

Moving quickly on to Saturday with Pat, we had planned to purchase remote control planes as the next fad, this changed after we actually thought about it, we would break them too quickly!

So we moved onto Kites, this seemed more practical! 

We headed to the Kite shop in town, purchased a 2.2m wing span "power kite" each. Due to being last years model (with the shop owner saying it was the packaging that had changed) the price was very competitive £35 each! bargain! 

We head over to the windiest filed near Pat's house, after a good 15mins of setting up the kites, connecting all the strings and lines, we went for the first flight! Oh boy kites are fun! We must have spent a good couple of windy hours in the field whizzing the kites left and right. 

Dont get me wrong, the amount of time the kite was in the air was equal to the amount of time spent untangling the lines once it came soaring down to the ground!

Overall the kites were great fun and looking forward to attaching a Go Pro to them and sending them up again! 

Saturday evening we headed to Panda's house, and decided to play the "Hercules Drinking Game", which is essence, is get drunk while watching the disney classic, Hercules. Now the rules are pretty simple, whenever X happens....DRINK! So whenever a song starts (which is disney is pretty often!), whenever he is called Jerk-ules and a handful of other rules - Great game! Makes me want to get the Disney box set, 2 crates of beer and off we go! 

Now onto Sunday, this was a very nice and relaxed Sunday,  we had one of Elisa's friends round for lunch so we decided to cook a roast dinner, i say we decided, which we did, but Elisa cooked. This in turn left me nothing to expect jump onto Warcraft to finally try and finish off the legendary Cloak Quest line. 

I have finally done it! for a second time! (both Paladin and now Mage). 

Dont get me wrong it wont take 5 mins to replace the items when WoD is released, but feel i have achieved something by doing it. 

Overall another great weekend, ready for a busy week at work! 

Side note - I have now sold the Bitcoin Mining Rig on ebay! so now just trading on the markets with the coins i mined!

Couple of Changes Lately - All for the better!

Well in the last week there has been a couple of changes! 

Lets try and bullet point these for you

• New Warcraft 6.0.2 Patch
• Purchased and Installed a Samsung 840 Evo Pro SSD
• Installed Windows 8.1 OS

Warcraft Patch 6.0.2 - The Iron Tide 

This week we saw the release of the new Warcraft Pre Patch, this has changed many aspects of the game some minor changes and others more noticeable. Now for anyone who is interested in the Pre Patch has more than likely already looked up all the changes but here is a quick list of high level changes. 

• New Character Models 
• Better Looking For Group - Questing / Raiding New and Old (Finally) Content
• Inventory Changes (Mostly structure / Auto Sort and a Regents Bank Tab 
• New Level 90 Upper Blackrock Spire Instance 
• Toy Box (for all those Toys you want to keep but just dont have space for)
• Changes to each Class 

All of the Pre Patch changes, so far ive really enjoyed makes the Release for Warlords even more exciting!

New Drive 

I have finally purchased a new Hard drive from my PC and this time its an SSD! Now i knew SSD's would change the PC performance but didn't expect it to be sop noticeable, the boot time is very quick, and then once in windows the load times of applications and games is just amazing! 

I decided to purchase the Samsung 840 Evo 250GB SSD (Found on amazon)  currently £89.90

Now is drive is is highly recommended! 

I have a slight issue to start with, where it felt like the PC was hanging for 10 seconds at a time, but after a quick firmware update she is running smooth as a babies bottom now. 

If you don't already have an SSD as your main operation Drive id suggest getting one! 

Windows 8.1

What goes hand in hand with a new SSD??

That's right a fresh install of the operating system

This time i have decided to go for Windows 8.1 (Normally would be 7) and so far i am really enjoying it. The first 24hrs it took a bit of getting used to, but now its been 4 days and i can safely say that this is a great OS (so far) 

I have changed the "Apps" page to things i will actually use, this has helped allot with the transition. 

Slowly installed all my old bits of software, Steam being the longest one with all the updates!

Fantasy Football - If you have been here before you will know that 1) i know next to nothing about Premiership Football (teams or players) 2) Ive joined the work Fantasy football league, so far this week its not going well with most of my team getting 1 point each! 

So that is it for me at the mo, i will keep updating my blog, thinking of doing a "Weekly Win" for Hearthstone - basically all the last X seconds of each game i play that i win. The Finishing Move for each match.

This means that people signed up with Ebay Paypal can now start accepting Bitcoins from customers that wish to pay in Bitcoins.

Bitcoin, Warcraft and Fantasy Football!

Hey All! 

Well its been a while since the mining build was completed (link HERE if you missed it) , then some months now since its been off. This is due to the mining difficultly as increased so much that the amount the rig would mine in a day outweighs the cost of electric for having it on. With that in mind, there has been more news about BTC becoming more mainstream with PayPal now embracing Bitcoins.

I have been lately playing on the Exchanges with some of the digital currency i have acquired. Will report back about that soon! 

 Warcraft now, last Saturday managed to clear the whole of the Flex raid bringing my item level up to 541 on my Frost Mage, sadly this week i have completed all the raids i can get into with also valor capping. As its Tuesday i will try and get into a Garrosh Normal as a last resort, otherwise will hop onto my Paladin and complete some randoms. 

Now the last part, fantasy football, I think I  have mentioned this before in the blog? If not ( there is one every year at work one free and one £5 entry fee, this year i joined the paid one, knowing a small amount of "football" related news)

So far for "The Excellers" its been a bouce start, 38th > 11th > 28th so fingers crossed we do a little better this week. I have made some changes to the team members and line, fingers crossed. 

I will add one note to this, tonight is an 11million lottery roll over, someone has to win it? so will pop online and grab 2 lucky dips!!!

Sunday Morning - Here's whats going on

Good Morning Sunday! 
A little fuzzy from lasts nights adventures, adventures maybe not being the right word but some fuzz none the less! 

Following on from yesterdays update! 

- Buy a large outdoor planter and put plant two baby fern trees 

- Drink a couple of beers 

- Finish of questing in Desolace

- Play some of the Archeage Beta! 

- Compile details and photos and items to put on eBay

What actually happened - 

- The plant idea, been asked to save that until we havea  garden to actually plant some proper shrubs. 

- Oh i definitely drank some beers! 

- I did finish the quests off in Desolace! now onto the next one for the lore master

- I did play some of the beta, but got into FLex raiding instead so did that! 

- eBay, this can wait till closer to the end of the month! 

Fantasy football update, have bounced up to 19th in the league! still have todays games and points to go! 

Lets see what happens today!! 

First Impressions of ArcheAge

So far ive played about 5 mins of the ArcheAge Beta and so far so good! The actions are smooth and the graphics soft. 

I have one thing which is annoying me, I'm playing the game in "Full Screen" and can only pick from two resolutions and both of them are smaller than my desktop size, which makes the UI feel larger than it should be.

I'll be carrying on with this game later this evening, might take a couple of videos.

This Weekend....

Warlords Release Date for the Release Date

There has been an announcement from Blizzard in regards to the release date of Warlords of Draenor.........not what you're thinking....they have released the release date for the release date to heighten ones anticipation for the game! 

August 14th 9.30 PDT which works out around 5.30pm UK time so at least we can stream the expo live in the evening. 

So close yet so far to knowing, they are also showing the first episode of a new animated lore miniseries called Lords of War.

Just want to point out the power of social media!

While watching the Common Wealth Games, seeing Usain Bolt run, after the race Bolt had pictures taken with members of the audience.

So with this decided to check Instagram.for the tags "Bolt" and "CommonWealth" within minuets one of the close up selfie pictures of Bolt is online for me to view, how things of changed to when we used to only see those types of photo's in the newspaper!

I had an email from the National Lottery, with great joy they have informed me that tonight, Tuesday 29th of July is a super roll over of 29Million Euros, which at todays exchange rate is £22.9 Million!!

So i decided to log into my National Lottery account, due to the shop being a little far away for a quick dash! 

Logged in, no problems did one Lucky Dip line and one PYO line. 

Now, the 2 lines total a cost of £4, great! ill add the minimum amount of £5 and im done...... BUT NO.....the Minimum now is £10 so thats leaves me with £6 in the account, oh why not try a quick win game.....a simple dice game or spin the wheel

Bang one game down, £2 down and nothing to show for it......

Oh whats one more game.......Won £5 on that one.....and hope simple it is to click "Play Again" its crazy! 

I have left the money in the account and logged off..... How quick "Gamblor" can just take you under his wings!

Friday 25th July - Hawaiian Fishery

Happy Friday!
That great time of the week again, its Friday!

Was out last night with Spoon at the park with a football, there is a gate at the back of the which we have never been through, so last night we decided to check it out.......We walked past a couple of tree into this very secluded lake? pond? fishery, surrounded by fishers, all instantly turned to look at us, with a stare of "You do not belong here, the sacred fish gods don't like you"
So before i could even stop walk to look around more, quick spin heel action and walked straight back out again, was very surreal!

At work today no meetings booked in, which is always nice and sit down and get on with some tasks ive got outstanding with some Building Control code and also finish of the time-sheet database and export.

This weekend, Saturday day time heading to Ben's for another EPIC installment of DnD! looking forward to that!

Saturday night, off to a Hawaiian party, got my "loud" shirt ready so hopefully the weather holds out so everyone can be outside!

Currently downloading Eclipse to make the app with. 

Now this will be the first app i would of ever made so lets see how it goes but the code looks tricky but not impossible! 

Now ill build a test app / a funny app and some kinda of call shop app!

Nice day at work so far! working on this timesheet application and database, have finally sorted out the SQL code to pick out the rolling 12 month data!

didnt have the hashtags in my starting code but due to being an access database need to use # and not ' for a date range, who knew! 

But now the data is coming across based on 2 cell values

This is now working like a charm for the automation! 

When the button clicked to refresh the data, the code heads to the DB finds all rows between the two dates, finds the correct user and department for the correct graph then update all pivot tables and charts in the workbook

The 100 - New TV Show - What we think.....

The 100 TV Show…What a let down

Spoilers included……..

Well after seeing a couple of gripping adverts on TV for this new show “The 100”, then a couple of good reports from some work friends, we decided to give the show a go!

As you would expect we started with episode 1 – the Pilot then quickly followed by episode 2.

Now the concept of this show is great, love the idea of it and the background story to why they are in space and why they have sent these 100 criminals (under 18) to earth.

So the first episode is a bit of plot building, background is that 97 years ago there was a nuclear war that destroyed pretty much the entire planet, the last remaining survivors are all on a space station called “The Arc”. They find out that The Arc needs 6 months of oxygen to fix the outside air pumps, but they only have 4 months of oxygen left, so to give them more time they send these 100 under 18 criminals down to earth for them to check if the planet can be lived on once more. Each of the 100 have a wristband on which tells the arc the vitals of each of them, so if they remove the wristband, they are seen as “Dead” due to no signal or pulse can be detected.

So this first half of the episode I can handle, very well done and makes complete sense…..now soon as they reach the planet, I start to get annoyed with these “Youths”, they are down there for a mission and to help save the entire human race, but no, they rebel within seconds of landing remove the wristbands, this is where it becomes very teen/pop/Small Ville/90210 style TV show and it loses its appeal for me.

They all start beating each other up, picking on the weak of the group and not actually doing much to survive, no real shelter, water supplies or food supply or ideas. It’s also like the kids of peter pan, but at least in peter pan they had a rough idea of what was going on, these guys are just douche-bags.

We then watched the 2^nd episode, I’d say around 50% of this one was actually good and the other 50% of the time it was more annoying or stupid. I’m sure if I was 18 and in that situation, things would have been very different! They soon find out they are not alone in this area of the planet and find some weird shaped skulls of what they expect to be a “mutated” human skull.

We will give episode 3 and possibly 4 a watch and see how it goes, but as it stands we won’t be “committed watchers” or even “if it’s on watchers”.

World Cup Sunday

Morning!
Well its World Cup Sunday! Tonight will be watching Germany Vs Argentina, World Cup Final!

Last night was the first time ive ever played a game of Dungeon and Dragons, it was very enjoyable and would definitely play again, we managed to escape a boat during a storm, kill an old "Fire Bird" grab some loot and head to the first town. We had a touch screen monitor on the table for maps and landscape, using it to move our characters around the island. Very nice extra to the game!

Elisa has gone to bed now, up for breakfast now back in bed to catch up on some sleep. 

This leaves me with some Assassins Creed Black Flag time!

The Early Friday

Just due to being owed an hour and 30mins from work, today i left about 50mins early! didnt want to take the whole time as felt it was too early to leave so carried on! Working on a timesheeting? Timesheet excel application, writes into a little DB. Couple of lines of VB for upload and checking the database and jobs done!

Clash Of Clans

I've been playing a fair amount of Clash of Clans lately finally at a descent level to get some good attacks going! Ill be join Pat's clan soon, got high enough to join so will message him soon! Sadly it is a time based app but i guess that's how it keeps you playing.
